The Student Life office help facilitates orientations, parent programs, fraternities and sororities, CUB activities, Emerging Leaders program, Treasure Savannah, Celebrate, and all our volunteer programs.
Steiner is well prepared for the packed Student Life schedule. Before she came to campus, she worked at the University of Wyoming for eight years as the Program Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life. Prior to that, she worked at a sorority based in Denver.
“I had decided that I was looking for a new challenge and for something very different,” says Steiner. “I started looking online through our student affairs. I found Armstrong and the position was exactly what I was looking for. When I started looking at the campus, I fell in love with it. I enjoy the feel of the campus, and the more I got to know the people here, the more it feels like this could be my next home. So when I got offered the position, I happily accepted.”
Her new position will allow her to supervise staff and she will be able to work directly with students, “which is something I didn’t want to lose sight of.”
There’s been a lot for Steiner to do in her new position. “We have a lot of great activities. A lot happens through the Campus Union Board, like Beach Bash on the 22nd of August.”
In addition to working on the final details of Beach Bash, she is also putting together Treasure Savannah and Celebrate. And on September 17 is a volunteer fair. So keep an eye out for Ms. Steiner, if you’re at an Armstrong event there’s a good chance you’ll see her.
